Creatures can be one of the most enjoyable elements to make in game development, both fantastic and often exploratory to make. However, creatures can also be the junction between believably and fantasy that can be difficult to maintain. In this course, Game Creature Sculpting Fundamentals, you'll learn how to balance those two paradigms and learn how to apply human anatomy onto a fantastical creature. First, you’ll dive into techniques for sculpting muscle. Next, you'll explore how to manage different tool sets in ZBrush, while making a complex and nuanced creature without getting bogged down in micro detail. Finally, you'll discover some prop creation methods. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to create and design creatures that feel like they could truly exist and are fantastic to see. Software required: ZBrush.

Course Overview
Hi everyone. My name is Dan John Cox, and welcome to my course, Game Creature Sculpting Fundamentals. I'm a 3D artist at Capybara Games. Creature models for games can be complex to construct. You need to find the right balance of believable anatomy while maintaining an exciting and unique look. This course will show you how to build a creature model from the ground up from block in to final details while ensuring you understand the anatomical underpinnings needed to ensure the creature looks believable. Some major topics that we will cover include quickly blocking in a body, functional anatomy for creatures, advanced curve brush functions, and fast and elegant prop creation methods. By the end of this course you will have an understanding of how to sculpt a detailed fantasy creature. Before beginning this course you should be familiar with sculpting inside of zBrush. I hope you'll join me on this journey to learn how to create believable creatures with the Game Creature Sculpting Fundamentals course and Pluralsight.
